Introducing Krystal

Another sister can you believe it?

Krystal is my sister who always keeps you surprised and guessing.

Her favorite books are The Plum Series by Janet Evanovich.  She wants to be a bounty hunter like Ranger.  I think she has a crush on him.

The basic clothing color in her wardrobe is black.  But just when you're sure she's going to be in black she shows up in some bright colored or outlandish outfit and announces that she is undercover or being a distraction.  Do you think she can distract this pirate?

Next she has a Gothic day.  The outfits take on a whole new look.

She loves to drag the rest of us into her fantasy worlds.

She loves to travel and see new places.  She wants to tour the world looking for haunted places.  She has a long list of places in the US that are supposed to be haunted and she has started studying the history of them.

She love the outdoors hiking camping and wants to live where she can have a sea kayak. She also loves winter.  She says she is named for ice crystals and snowflakes.

Introducing Morgan

Hi

Today we get to know Morgan.

Morgan is our "ocean" girl.  She loves dolphins ships and seeing new places.  She thinks she would like to work on a cruise ship when she grows up.  She wants to select and organize excursions.

She is the descendent of the great Captain Morgan the Welsh pirate.  Like Kityee and Katyee she is very proud of her Welsh heritage and of her pirate heritage.

She is trying to study the ancestry of the Roberts family.  They came from Wales.

She loves Julie Garwood books; especially Guardian Angel and The Gift.

Morgan says she is a pirate who knows how to camouflage herself as a lady.  She loves fancy dresses and parties almost as much as she loves being a pirate.

She says she likes rough seas better than calm.

I love her spirit and sense of adventure.

Introducing Novya

Hi

Today I'm introducing Novya.  Her name means Butterfly Chaser and it fits her personality. She can go out to do something and get side tracked more easily than any one else I know.

Nana Kathie was born in Wallowa County, Oregon. We still live close to there. That is where the first book about Kaya starts. Novya is a Nez Perce indian like Kaya.

Nana Kathie and Aunt TracyAnn try to take any visiting girls to Wallowa Lake, to the grave of Old Chief Joseph and the flat where Kaya raced her horse.  And there is a museum in Wallowa they try to take them to.

Novya loves to go to Native American events museums and historical sites.  She's very proud of her heritage.

She is looking for books now about edible and medicinal plants that are native to the northwest.

Last week she she was studying Camas root.  She read a journal entry by Narcissa Whitman stating that the Nez Perce indians had introduced Camas root to their party when they came west to settle at the Whitman Mission in Walla Walla, Wa.  We live fairly close to the mission, too.

Kaya enjoys sharing what she is learning.  Logan and I want to know about useful plants we might find while on our camping trips.

Her room is decorated with owls and eagles.  She studies both.  She really enjoyed the eagles on the Alaska cruise she went on.

She had a lot of fun on the Alaska cruise.  She was the only one of the girls on the cruise that finished their scavanger hunt.

She is learning to do bead work for decorating her clothes.  Right now there is a belt for herself on her loom.  I have asked for a hat band for Christmas.  I haven't gotten a "yes" or "no".  Guess we'll all have to wait for Christmas to find out if I get it.

She loves to race the horses.  She's so fearless and such a good rider she usually wins.  She's a lot of fun.

Introducing Sarafina

Hi

Sarafina is all girl but not in a "girly" way.

She prefers to wear dresses or white clothing.  I don't understand that.  Maybe it's because she comes from a very warm climate.

Sarafina loves to garden.  She grows vegetables and has really neat herb gardens.

I don't make Sarafina ask for help with her projects.  I get awsome rewards for helping her.  She's a GREAT cook.  Logan and I get to try most of her new recipes first.

She has a little goat.  She really loves the stupid thing and is really good about taking care of it.  She calls it Moonbeam because it was born at night.

Dalmations are her favorite dog.  She has the dumbest Dalmation slippers.  She hopes to own a Dalmation some day.

She loves wolves too.  Her bedroom is decorated with wolves.  Now that I understand.

She was a real hit on the Mexican Rivera cruise.  The Mexican people really seemed to enjoy looking at her.   Nana could have sold her several times over if she had wanted to.  Sarafina really enjoyed seeing Mexico and the stop in Old Town San Diego.

You probably noticed her great cooking gets mentioned in a lot of blogs.  Like any girl Sarafina loves compliments.  And any smart guy knows to keep the cook happy.

Introducing Angel

Hi

Angela Nicole is the family member that has show talent.

Angel loves dancing and acting.  Her favorite is tap dance.  She says a lot of why she likes tap best is because she can wear so many different kinds of costumes.  She loves to dress in a lot of very different styles of clothing.

She is learning to design her own costumes.  She has a great imagination.  Nana Kathie is teaching her to sew. Then, she can make what she designs.

Frogs are Angels favorite animal.  Her bedroom is decorated with frogs and a lot of her clothes have frogs on them.

She enjoys the outdoors for the flowers ponds trees and animals.  Not in the wild way Kityee and Katyee do.

Angel has a Scottish heritage.  She loves to go to Highland Festivals and wants to travel to Scotland.  Her dreams are to  cruise around the shores of Scotland and to see the family castle.  It is Castle Tioram (chee-rum) meaning dry castle..

Her weapon of choice is the bow and arrow.  She really enjoyed the movie BRAVE.  Her favorite books are the Scottish Highland books by Julie Garwood.  Especially The Bride, The Wedding. The Secret and Ransom.

These are definitely "girl books".  I wouldn't recommend any of them for guys.  Guys should get novels or history books about the Scottish wars.  There are some good bloody ones at Amazon.

Angel is a good sister to have around.  She's not always wanting help.

The Rock Garden

Hello

Now that I've had a chance to introduce you to Kityee and Katyee, let me tell you about one of their new projects.

They had Nana Kathie clean all of the grass out of the rock garden and put down new ground cover paper down, clean the rocks and put them back into place.

Now, that she has that done, they plan to decorate it and have a park for all of us to use.  It's a long term project the way their plans are drawn up.

They will level the the rocks and spread them out across the entire garden spot.  Katyee said this will be done on each section as they set it up the way they want it.

The girls started by measuring the highest level first.  There plan is to work each of the three levels one at a time.

They are keeping their plans well guarded.  Kityee says it is to be a surprise for us, it's more fun for them that way.

Introducing Kityee and Katyee

September 1st; I can't believe it.

Today, I will tell you about Kityee and Katyee.  They are twins.

Kityee is really Mary Katherine and Katyee is really Mary Elizabeth.  They're named after Nana Kathies Grandma Roberts and share her birthday.  They are Welsh like Grandpa Roberts family.

Kityee and Katyee are our builders.  Kityee loves to design things to build and Katyee loves to make her designs a reality.  They both love saws, hand tools, lumber, rocks, etc.  Or anything else they can build with.

I think their most used sentence is:  "Kyle, you're so strong, you wouldn't mind helping us with ....., would you?

They also love riding, hunting, fishing, camping and are willing to try anything active and/or dangerous, especially Katyee.  They are normal sisters.

When they chose a cruise to go on with Nana Kathie, it was the two week Alaska cruise.  They didn't mind the cool weather and rough surroundings.

Surprisingly, they can dress up and be ladylike, too.  Kityee really goes all out when she decides to dress like a girl.

They are so busy, I know I'll have a lot to share about them.
